Bryant’s bio info:

Bryant has always loved science. In high school, he figured out how to electroplate silverware and make rather explosive model rockets. At UVA, he studied Cognitive Science and found the idea of artificial intelligence not only intriguing, but a soon-to-be-realized reality. Bryant began to spend lots of spare time tinkering with and modifying computers. He never stopped. This hobby bloomed into what is now Quick Fix. Bryant’s long and diverse background of computer fixing added to his attention to detail and drive to be the absolute best, gives him the practical experience and character he needs to be a superb geek.

What Bryant does:

Bryant is often on the road. He visits businesses and homes of people all around Charlottesville. His largest customer is a business with four offices. One in North Carolina and three in Virginia. They can all be maintained remotely. His smallest customer is a grandmother that was half-way forced into using a computer by her children. She hated it. Bryant started by showing her how to turn it on. By the end of the lesson… she thought it was ‘quite cool’. Bryant is skilled in troubleshooting software and hardware and can setup networks so that they work cleanly, quickly and efficiently. If you schedule a tech to come to your home or business. Bryant will be the guy you meet.

I really love my job. It makes me feel like I just cleaned out a garage or something... everything hanging on the proper hook, clean, organized. It's also great to leave a place and have the people say, 'Thank you, thank you, thank you!' Customers give me and Marty cookies and cake and all sorts of stuff. I really appreciate our customer's gratitude and I know Marty does too.

Marty’s bio info:

Marty has been professionally engaged for over 25 years with a broad diversity of custom scientific programming activities. These activities have focused on developing computer-based computational applications to assist life science research. Over his career, he has advanced his education to the highest levels, and has worked in a number of life science research settings. At the present time, he continues this involvement through his own private consulting practice. However, as a complement to those activities, his long-standing enjoyment of computer-related interests led him to establish his close relationship with Bryant, currently working together with him at Quick Fix.

What Marty does:

There is no one better at recovering data from a sick hard drive, nor at repairing even the most-corrupted of hard disk file systems, nor at resurrecting even the most horribly-infected PC. But, if the extensive “bag of tricks” he’s developed over the years turns out to be insufficient for repairing your sick PC (or Mac), he knows how to set-up a computer system, from the ground up, both hardware and software, to run far better than even when it was new. But, perhaps most importantly, he will always shoot straight with you, no matter the circumstance. He’ll straight-forwardly go over all available options with you, and, on those unfortunate occasions when necessary, he’ll honestly break the bad news to you if it’s just plain time for a new computer. He always operates with an eye toward the most economical and value-maximizing path to get you, and your computer, back on track. He is someone you can absolutely rely on to give you the best possible advice, always.

I’m fortunate to have been given opportunities in life to do many of the things I most enjoy doing. I’m also fortunate to be pretty good at many of them. The challenges associated with problem-solving have long driven my life-interests, and I continue to be challenged in interesting ways now, with what I do with Bryant, at Quick Fix. I’m a perfectionist ... some say, to a fault. But a reward for being so is the satisfaction of a job well done, as well as appreciation from those whom I’ve helped. I’m proud to say that Bryant and I only know one way to do a job, and that’s 'Right!'
