AVG AntiVirus 2011 is a FAKW anti-spyware program... This antivirus program actually is the virus!

AVG Antivirus 2011, not to be confused with AVG Anti-Virus (a legitimate anti-virus program), attempts to trick users into believing it is a legitimate program. AVG Antivirus 2011 will present itself as an anti-malware scanner on your computer screen notifying you that your computer is infected and needs AVG Antivirus 2011.

Even if you restart your computer, chances are AVG Antivirus 2011 has already embedded itself into your hard drive. At start up, you can expect to see the results of a “scan” notifying you of multiple infections. Every part of this is FAKE! From the “scan” that is supposed to protect your computer, to the “program” itself, AVG Antivirus 2011 has no legitimate qualities. The only thing AVG Antivirus 2011 can do successfully is steal your credit card number!

Should you have the misfortune of “contracting” this virus, do your best not to click on any pop-up relating to AVG Antivirus 2011. Instead, try Alt-F4 (the Windows keyboard quit command). If you want to remove this infection from your computer, the most important thing to remember is to BE CAUTIOUS! One of our customers had a friend remove a virus from their computer only to find out it was not completely gone and experienced identity theft a week later.

When they brought it to our shop we found all manner of hidden and malicious programs. If you have already purchased AVG Antivirus 2011 and given away your credit card number, contract your credit card company to dispute the charge and to make sure no additional charges are being made.

We’ve also seen fake alerts posing as McAfee, Norton, and others.
