When you have worked in the tech field for a while, you tend to notice what the top customer frustrations are with their computers. The one I hear most often is “It is just SO slow”. This can have many causes, and there are as many scammers out there trying to make you believe that the junk program they are selling will solve all your speed woes.
A saying I heard really applies in that situation– Good service isn’t cheap, and cheap service isn’t good. Sadly, there is no cheap magic bullet that will make your budget computer super fast. Nobody likes having to spend money. I get that. That’s where we at QuickFix come in. I had a really nice customer come to me and we talked about how frustrated she was with the computer she had. She seemed to spend more time waiting for her PC to do stuff than actually doing fun and productive things with it. She just wanted to stop having to wait on every little thing.
She was afraid that she’d have to spend like $2000 on such a machine… But how fun it was to bring her back to where I work and let her play with my own PC for a bit. I could see the delight in her eyes at how much better it was than she was used to. My PC has been customized (we are geeks here, after all). When I told her that I could replicate the build for her, and meet all her custom requirements, she was interested. When I told her how much she would pay for such a service, she was sold.
We pride ourselves here on being a “white glove” service company, and this customer made it known that she was very pleased with that kind of service, and with the results. Now she has a durable, dependable, and feature-filled laptop that is a pleasure to use. It boots in 4-6 seconds, can run anything you throw at it, and everything opens at near-instant speed.
A vital component to this amazing speed is the SSD (solid state drive) hard drive. The PC had a regular hard drive inside it when it was delivered. It booted in 1 minute and 43 seconds. What a dramatic difference! We now suggest these to every customer who is tired of waiting. As with any computer or device—backups are critical. Once you have one of these amazing drives paired with good hardware you are well on your way to reducing your frustrations with your PC. They are a little more expensive than regular drives, but not prohibitively so.
Here are some of the things she had to say about her new PC and her experience here at QuickFix:
BTW, my husband reports that the sound on this computer is much better than the sound on the old one. Thanks again.
Billy: Please forward this to your boss. And, thank you for making our computer selection and set-up as painless as it could be for us. I was able to set it up at home this afternoon and follow your instructions for turning it on, turning off the touchpad, enabling the printer, etc. My husband was delighted that his “favorites” were all in place; in fact, that was his first question when I told him you’d called to say the computer was ready. I’ll call if I have questions after using it for a while, but for now I wanted you to know how pleased we are. Thank you so much.
We really enjoy turning frowns upside down for our customers. Personally, I enjoy the challenge of having a customer give me a budget and saying “build me the best you can for this much”. I know how much I enjoy having a really fast computer, so I can imagine the sweet relief it must be if you are used to a slow computer that you have grown to hate. Let us make it fun again for you! If you are reading this, I hope I will get the opportunity to make you as happy as this lady was.
